I really enjoyed seeing the different ways of grouping in both classes. The students seemed to be knowledgable with what is expected of them and really enjoyed their texts. Thank you for allowing us into your classroom to observe and help. It was a great experience!
I thought it was useful getting to do one-one-one with one class and a group with the next. It gave me a feel for how both types of grouping will work. I loved the frogs theme and the meaning behind it for the second classroom we visited. I also loved that one group had discussion questions, and the other class had to do writing so that we got to see both of those types of assessments happening. Another thing I enjoyed is getting to see both classrooms and how they were organized. Thank you for allowing us into your classroom.
I learned so much from working with the students in both of the classrooms. It was extremely helpful to see what we have been learning about in action. I enjoyed working one-on-one with a student in the first grade classroom, and really getting to see her thought process as she wrote about the informational text. I loved the yoga balls in the second grade classroom. It was awesome to see the different literature circles and listen to their discussions. The most helpful thing for me, however, was to see a little bit of the classroom management styles and procedures from both teachers. I gained a lot of knowledge and ideas from this experience and am very thankful for the experience!
I enjoyed working one on one with the students in the first grade classroom and experiencing the student's thought process when writing an informative writing about frogs. In the second grade classroom I enjoyed how we got to see multiple groups that are grouped by levels discussing the book and details about the book. I worked with the blue group and enjoyed hearing them tell me how they relate to the character Harold. I enjoyed experiencing both classrooms and the different grade levels and appreciated the tips we received at the end of the visits. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to come into your classrooms and giving us experiences we can learn from.
This experience really opened my eyes, and made me a little more comfortable with reading and writing in the classroom. I really enjoyed working one on one with the students in the first grade classroom and seeing how to help with reading and writing. I also really enjoyed working with the groups of students in the second grade classroom. It was neat to see how the students were reading chapter books and answer discussion questions after taking turns reading to each other. The kids were super sweet and funny, and I am glad I got to experience this. Thank you for allowing us to come out and come into the classrooms.
I really enjoyed and learned a lot from working with the students in both classrooms and getting to ask both teachers questions. It was very helpful to see the different types of groups used and being able to work with groups. In the first grade classroom I really enjoyed working one-on-one with a student helping him read and write a response over an informational text. In the second grade classroom I enjoyed listening to the students read and discuss what happened in the text. The thing I really liked the most, however, was being able to ask both teachers questions and receiving helpful tips from each teacher.Thank you for allowing us to come into your classrooms and experience how to work with different groups in different setting it was very useful and I am very thankful for the opportunity.
I thought that this experience in the classrooms was extremely beneficial to me as a future teacher. I got to see how everyday classroom run their guided reading and literature circles. I enjoyed getting to work with the students one on one in one of the classrooms and then getting to see how having students work in groups in the other classroom. I also liked how we got to see an informational text being used and a fiction text and how both of those were used in similar yet different ways in the classroom. I also really enjoyed getting to ask the teachers questions and getting input from them after our visit. I am thankful that these teachers open their classrooms for us to learn and were so helpful in anyway.
I really enjoyed my experience at London Elementary. The students were engaged and we ready to learn as soon as we walked in the door. I believe the teachers had the students well prepared for our visit. I loved the two teachers teaching styles. I liked seeing the different guided reading lessons that were one on one and in groups. At the end, I enjoyed asking the teachers questions. They gave great feedback that will help us whenever we all become teachers. I am thankful I had the opportunity to come to London to meet these two great teachers and witness this experience with all my classmates. It is something we can bring to our future classrooms. Thank you for this great opportunity!
Thank you so much for opening your classrooms to us. I know it took a lot of planning and preparation. This experience was eye opening, it was great getting to see literacy circles and the literacy blocks in action and not just watching videos about it on YouTube. I was surprised the 1st grade student I worked with in Mrs. Kimbrough's class knew how to write so well. In Mrs. Donathan's class I enjoyed listening to the students read and participate in the literacy circles. I also learned a lot about procedures and how they need to be explicit for students. I really enjoyed this experience at London Elementary! Thank you again!
I really enjoyed the London Elementary Visit! I enjoyed being able to one-on-one read with the children and be able to experience expository writing with a first grade class was informative. I've never had the opportunity to see a Literature Circle before either, especially in such a young classroom I loved it and it gave me a lot of ideas on how to implement Literature Circles in my own future classroom! Overall the London visit was awesome, and they all were so welcoming! It gave me so many ideas that I would like to implement in my own classroom!
I found the classroom visits extremely helpful and engaging. I enjoyed being able to see two different classrooms and the learning environment. In the first classroom I was able to have a one-on-one reading and expository writing about frogs. In the second classroom we observed a literature circle which I was able to see for the first time. It was great to see the class split and work with different books according to groups with different tasks. I found the two classrooms very helpful and informative. I feel more confident in my future teaching. Thank you for allowing us to visit your classrooms!
Thank you for allowing us to come to your classrooms and work with your students! It was a great way to get our mind set back in teacher mode and how things will actually be in our own classrooms. I really liked how in the second room we visited, the blue group wrote about how they related to Harold in Harold and the purple crayon. The students were very creative with their text-to-self relation. Another thing I liked about our time at London Elementary was that both teachers were new teachers so they could relate to where we are at in the education program and could give us useful information for our first year of teaching. Thank you again!
I really enjoyed being in both of the classrooms. It was good to see how different the two grades are and the differen things that they do. I thought it was beneficial because it gave us one-on-one time with the students and we don't get that very much. I liked that both of the teacher shows us different things and the way they do things. I'm very thankful that they informed us about procedures and constantly having to remind them about different procedures throughout the day. Thank you both again!
